Hewlett-Packard has just unveiled its latest lineup of EliteBook business laptops, and they include the EliteBook 735 G6 and the EliteBook 745 G6. These new laptops are debuting roughly a year after their "G5" counterparts.

The EliteBook 735 G6 and 745 G6 are largely similar with regards to specs, with the primary difference being in the size of their display. The former comes with a 13.3-inch FHD IPS display, while the latter stretches the display to a slightly larger 14 inches. There are multiple display options for each laptop, but two things remain the same: the FHD resolution and the inclusion of an anti-reflective coating.

On the processing front, HP is using AMD processors across the board, which isn't surprising. HP Inc. CEO Dion Weisler talked up the need to offer compelling alternatives to Intel to its customers in the form of AMD Ryzen processors last month. The company continues to put its money where its mouth is by offering a choice of Ryzen 3, Ryzen 5 or Ryzen 7 APUs with these new business laptops. The most powerful of the chips is the Ryzen 7 3700U, which has integrated Radeon Vega 10 graphics. This particular CPU has a base clock of 2.3GHz and can boost up to 4GHz.

Two SO-DIMM slots are included, which give the EliteBook 735 G6 and 745 G6 support for a maximum of 32GB DDR4-2400 memory. Luckily, both slots are accessible if companies need to upgrade down the road from the shipping memory configuration. Both laptops support SSDs across the board, with base systems offering a 128GB M.2 SATA SSD. If businesses are willing to fork over a bit more money, there are 256GB, 512GB and 1TB options as well. The top-ranging 1TB SSD features a PCIe 3.0 NVMe interface.

You have your choice of Realtek 802.11ac/Bluetooth 4.2 for wireless connectivity or Intel 802.11ac/Bluetooth 5.0 depending on your needs. And if on-the-go connectivity is a priority, you can even option either system with an Intel XMM 7360 Cat. 9 LTE modem.

For those concerned about portability, the EliteBook 735 G6 weighs in at 2.94 pounds, while the EliteBook 745 G6 tips the scales at 3.31 pounds. And with respect to security, HP provides a full suite of manageable solutions including HP Sure Sense, HP Sure View Gen3, HP Privacy Camera, HP Sure Start for AMD, and HP Sure Click.

Both the EliteBook 735 G6 and 745 G6 will be available later this month priced at $1,199 and $929 respectively.
