Lenovo ThinkPad X395, T495 and T495s Laptops Announced With 2nd Gen AMD Ryzen Pro APUs

Earlier this month, we saw Lenovo pull the wraps off a new ThinkBook S family of consumer laptops and today we're witnessing the launch of a revised family of ThinkPad business laptops. The new laptops include the ThinkPad X395, T495 and T495s, with the "5" at the end of the name representing that these are machines powered by AMD processors.

Whereas the ThinkPad X390 makes use of 8th generation Intel Core processors, the ThinkPad X395 is available with up to 2nd generation AMD Ryzen 7 Pro mobile processors backed by Radeon Vega graphics. You'll find a 13.3-inch Full HD display framed with thin bezels and support for up to 32GB of DDR4 memory and up to a 1TB NVMe PCIe SSD.

The ThinkPad T495 and T495s are the AMD-based counterparts to the ThinkPad T490 and T490s. Both offer 14-inch Full HD panels rated at 400 nits. The ThinkPad T495s is the more svelte of the two new offerings

All of the machines weigh in at less than three points, and AMD claims that battery life has increased by an average of four hours compared to their predecessors, while performance has increased by roughly 18 percent across the board. The systems support FreeSync technology for stutter-free visuals and are MIL-SPEC rated to withstand the rigors of operating out in the field.

Other features include dual far-field microphones, [side-mounted] mechanical docking, a ThinkShutter for the webcam, and the optional ThinkPad PrivacyGuard ePrivacy filter to prevent "shoulder surfing" while you're working on sensitive documents.

Lenovo says that the ThinkPad T495 will be available later this month priced from $939. The ThinkPad T495s and X395 will be available in June, each priced from $1,089.
