Next, we'll take a look at how the Lenovo ThinkPad Helix compares to other systems in terms of performance.

Content Creation Performance
Cinebench R11.5 is a 3D rendering performance test based on Cinema 4D from Maxon. Cinema 4D is a 3D rendering and animation suite used by animation houses and producers like Sony Animation and many others. It's very demanding of processor resources and is an excellent gauge of pure computational throughput.

 

The ThinkPad Helix earned a mid-range score in the OpenGL benchmark and one of the lower scores in the CPU test. To be fair, we didn’t expect the ThinkPad Helix to outscore some of the more powerful systems in our reference chart but we would have liked to see the device score better than it did in this test.

Synthetic Benchmarks: CPU & RAM

We continued our testing with SiSoftware's SANDRA, the System ANalyzer, Diagnostic and Reporting Assistant. We ran four of the built-in subsystem tests (CPU Arithmetic, Multimedia, Memory Bandwidth, File System).

The Core i5-3337U processor found in the ThinkPad Helix holds its own in comparison to other processors in the CPU test. The story is much the same in the Processor Multi-Media test and Memory Bandwidth test where the ThinkPad Helix earns midrange scores. The SSD found in the ThinkPad Helix earns a top marks in the Physical Disks test, however.
