Windows 10 Redstone Preview Build 14267 Moves To Fast Lane

Microsoft continues to make headway on Redstone, the codename for the next major update to Windows 10. Those subscribed to the Fast ring in Microsoft's Windows Insider program can take a sneak peek at some of the forthcoming enhancements in Redstone courtesy of a new Windows 10 preview build that's available.

Preview build 14267 doesn't bring much in the way of brand new features, but it does offer several updates of interest. One of those is a smarter Cortana with a keen ear for music—build 14267 adds a music search icon to the top right of Cortana, and if you click on it, she'll listen and search for the song that's playing.

Microsoft Edge

Microsoft also paid some attention to its Edge browser. The new preview build includes a new favorites bar that you can tweak to show only favicons instead of full bookmarks to save space, plus you can add folders for better management of your favorites.

If you dig a little deeper (into the Settings), you'll find a new option in Edge to clear browsing data when exiting the browser. And finally, Microsoft improved the download prompts in Edge, which now let you choose where to save a file.

Outside of Edge, Microsoft made some improvements to messaging and Skype—you can now attach photos to your Skype messages—and rolled out a handful of general fixes.
