Doh! Valve Apologizes After E. Honda Street Fighter DLC Leaks On Steam

Lucia and Poison and E.Honda, oh my! Valve accidentally leaked a trailer for the upcoming DLC for Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition. The leaked trailer revealed that Lucia, Poison, and E.Honda will be joining the roster of characters.

Valve accidentally posted a trailer for the new Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition DLC on Steam this past Wednesday. They noted that there was a “mix-up in the publishing process” that “caused a trailer to go live on Steam ahead of schedule”. Valve has since apologized and remarked that they have “implemented measures to prevent this error from happening again.” Capcom, the video game developers behind Street Fighter, released the official trailer soon after the leak.

Many believe that Capcom was going to reveal the additional characters at the Evolution Championship Series 2019 (Evo). Evo is the longest-running fighting game tournament and includes events that feature games such as Street Fighter, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, and Mortal Kombat. The tournament runs for three days, and the DLC was supposed to be available on the final day of Evo 2019. Valve leaked the trailer two days before the tournament started.

The leak has been met with mixed emotions. Capcom and Evo 2019 representatives were quite upset that the leak occurred. Some fans are excited to see the addition of Lucia, Poison, and E. Honda. However, many others are disappointed with the reveal or upset that the surprise was ruined.
