Samsung Unveils New 49-inch Curved Gaming And Space Saving Monitors For CES 2019

Samsung has announced several new computer displays ahead of CES 2019, and the screens all offer something different for gamers and regular PC users to appreciate. One of the displays is the Samsung Space Monitor specifically aimed at those that like to keep a tidy desk. The interesting feature of this monitor for users with small desks is when you need your space back, you can push it back, and it stores flat against the wall opening up room for work.

The Samsung Space Monitor has ergonomic adjustments and a cable management system inside. It offers a 27-inch QHD resolution model and a 32-inch 4K resolution version. The monitor easily tilts and extends from the wall and has a power and HDMI cable that goes through the arm.

Samsung also has a CRG9 49-inch gaming monitor with dual QHD resolution. The company claims that the CRG9 is the world's first high-resolution super ultra-wide gaming monitor with 32:9 aspect ratio. It has a 120Hz refresh rate with a 4ms response time, and it supports AMD FreeSync 2 HDR technology for the smoothest gaming and highest frame rate possible. The display features a Dual QHD resolution (5120 x 1440) and its supports HDR10 with a peak brightness of 1,000 nits. The monitor also has a 1,800mm screen curvature and an ultra-wide field of view. Samsung says the display is equivalent to a pair of 27-inch QHD 16:9 monitors placed side by side. Connectivity includes one HDMI, two Display Ports, USB 3.0, and headphone ports.

The last of the new displays is the UR59C 32-inch curved 4K UHD display aimed at content creators. This screen has 2,500:1 contrast ratio, 3840 x 2160 4K UHD resolution, and supports up to a billion colors. The screen has 1500R curvature that promises reduced eye strain. It comes in a dark blue-gray color and is very slim with a depth of 6.7mm and a fabric-textured rear casing. It's bezel-less on three sides and has a V-slim stand. Samsung is offering no pricing or availability details on these displays, but they will be in the Samsung booth at CES 2019 kicking off in a few days with all the details are expected at the show.
