DJI Announces Lightweight Ronin-SC 3-Axis Gimbal For Mirrorless Cameras
There are a few things more annoying in the modern world than blurry photos and videos, especially when you are traveling. Thankfully, DJI might have a solution. The company just released its Ronin-SC stabilizer that allows photographers and videographers to capture images with greater ease.
The Ronin-SC is a 3-axis stabilizer for mirrorless cameras featuring an unlimited pan axis, axis locks on each arm to help balance and store the stabilizer, easy-to-reach buttons and triggers, and a slip-resistant grip. The stabilizer is very light and weighs a little under 2.5 pounds (1.1 kilograms). It can support up to 4.4 pounds (2.0 kilograms) and is compatible with a wide variety of cameras.
The stabilizer is also accompanied by an app that helps users to control their settings. Users are able to create smooth panoramas, timelapse or motion lapse videos, and camera movement paths. Sport mode helps increase the response speed of the gimbal while maintaining stabilization and ActiveTrack 3.0 allows users to select a subject to follow. The app also includes a Force Mobile features. Users can synchronize the movement of the stabilizer gimbal with the movement of their smartphone. The app is available on devices with iOS 9.0 or later or Android 5.0 or later.
The Ronin-SC stabilizer is available today for $439 USD. Consumers can also purchase the Ronin-SC Pro Combo for $539. The combo includes the stabilizer, an added focus wheel with an external focus motor, and a Remote Start Stop (RSS) Splitter. The focus motor and wheel help to control the camera’s focus.
It is important to note that the stabilizer does not include a smartphone holder. Users will need to purchase a separate smartphone holder for $39 to connect to the stabilizer. Otherwise, users will not be able to take advantage of features like Force Mobile or Active Track 3.0.
