This holiday season you could potentially walk through both an actual and virtual winter wonderland. One redditor discovered a glitch in Red Dead Redemption 2 that leads to a snowy region. The area is one of several sections in Red Dead Redemption 2 that can be reached through a glitch.
Redditor u/Huntroploria excitedly posted that they had “Managed to glitch out of the map...Currently exploring what else may lie beyond reach…” This restricted area lies north of the map and features mountains, frozen lakes, and an ice wall. The Redditor did not discover any Game of Thrones-style White Walkers, but he did find a few animals to interact with.
There are a few ways break the northern barrier of the map, but the most common seems to be to camp out west of the Barrow Lagoon. Players should set up camp once they have reached a mountain that cannot be scaled. When the player wakes up after setting up their camp, they should find themselves on the other side of the invisible wall that divides the established world and the restricted area.
Players can also explore beyond the southern limit of the map. Redditor u/Coyotemation reported that they had been able to glitch into Mexico and that the terrain appeared to have been ported over from Red Dead Redemption.
Why would Rockstar include such detailed but inaccessible regions in their game?
