Alleged NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080 Super Benchmarks Leak Delivering Monster Performance
As was bound to happen, an early benchmark comparison claiming to represent NVIDIA's not-yet-released (to retail) GeForce RTX 2080 Super graphics card has leaked out. If the numbers are to believed (and they certainly look plausible), the GeForce RTX 2080 Super falls squarely between a Titan Xp and Titan V in performance.
We will get to the numbers in a moment, but first let's recap the specs. The GeForce RTX 2080 Super sports 3,072 CUDA cores and features base and boost clocks of 1,650MHz and 1,815MHz, respectively. It also has 8GB of GDDR6 memory piping data through a 256-bit bus at 15.5Gbps, which pegs the memory bandwidth at 496GB/s.
Twitter user and notorious leaker APISAK spotted the benchmark comparison in Square Enix's Final Fantasy XV database. All we get is a glimpse, though, as the GeForce RTX 2080 Super was only benchmarked at 2560x1440 with High Quality settings. Here's the chart...

The GeForce RTX 2080 Super handily outperforms the regular GeForce RTX 2080, scoring around 7.5 percent higher. It is not really within striking distance of the GeForce RTX 2080 Ti, however, which will remain NVIDIA's flagship consumer GeForce RTX card (outside of the Titan series).
NVIDIA has already released its two other Super variants, those being the GeForce RTX 2070 Super and GeForce RTX 2060 Super. Only the GeForce RTX 2080 Super remains. Barring a last minute change of plan, it will release to retail on July 23, starting at $699.
The value proposition of NVIDIA's GeForce RTX series has improved with the launch of the Super models. Here's how things are now positioned...

Basically, the GeForce RTX 2080/2070 Super variants slid into the same pricing as the non-Super models, while the GeForce RTX 2060 Super debuted with a $50 higher price than the non-Super model. At least as it pertains to the two higher-end SKUs, NVIDIA is delivering more bang for the buck than when the RTX series originally launched.
