NVIDIA Game 24 Global Celebration of PC Gamers Event Starts September 18th, 6PM PDT

Have you gone and registered for NVIDIA's upcoming GAME 24 event? As a friendly reminder from your favorite technology site on the web, GAME 24 is scheduled to take place on September 18, 2014, at 6PM PDT. What the flip is GAME 24? The aptly named event is a 24-hour celebration of PC gaming hosted by NVIDIA in which there will also be "major product and game announcements."

If we had to guess, we'd say NVIDIA is planning to launch its Maxwell-based GeForce GTX 980 and GTX 970 graphics cards, and potentially a new mobile GPU, the GeForce GTX 980M. In fact, we'd be surprised if NVIDIA didn't at least announce the two desktop parts, though like everyone else, we'll have to wait and see.

Game 24 Tip

What we do know is that there will be exclusive developer interviews with the likes of Epic, Ubisoft, Boss Key, NCSoft, Blizzard, Warner Brothers, Respawn, and others. There will be a GAME 24 DOTA 2 Invitational tournament featuring professional teams, and of course prizes. That includes major prizes like a Falcon Northwest Tiki and one of three custom-built rigs, each with 3-way SLI GeForce GTX GPUs.

The GAME 24 event will take place in several locations such as Los Angeles, Shanghai, Stockholm, London, and others. If you can't make it in person, don't sweat it, there will be a livestream, details of which you can gather on the event's official landing page.

Another reason to attend? Potential drama, if you're into that sort of thing. Forbes intercepted an email that AMD is planning to send out to 15,000 evangelists inviting them to "infiltrate" NVIDIA's GAME 24 event. The subtly snarky email takes a jab at NVIDIA for supposedly jumping on the AMD30Live bandwagon and hints at infiltrators to wear red.

"We believe there is no such thing as a bad celebration of gaming, so we warmly encourage you to attend this event in person," AMD states in its email.
