Microsoft's July Update For Xbox One Introduces New Achievements Mode, Easier App Switching
For one, a new Snap Mode for Achievements. This is essentially a much easier way to track and view your Achievements, as you can view your progress in real-time without having to leave whatever game you're playing. The Achievements are sorted by level of progress, and if there's one that's giving you trouble, you can select a new "Get Help" option that will scan the web via Bing for tips and strategies.
Microsoft's also introducing a double-tap to Snap option -- double tap the button on your game controller and it will bring up the Snap Center. From there, you can launch Achievements or any other Snap-enabled app without leaving your game. If you already have an app snapped, double tapping switches between the two.
Other features include choice of spoken language, the ability to "Like" game DVR clips (as well as activity feed items in SmartGlass), and the ability for publishers to roll out digital bundles. There will be other upgrades included in the update as well, though Microsoft is keeping those tight-lipped at the moment.
