We have been seeing leaks of HTC's upcoming flagship U12+ smartphone for several weeks now, including what looked to be official press renders and a comprehensive set of specifications. Lest there be any doubt about the legitimacy of previously leaked information, HTC did curious folks a solid by posting all the juicy bits on its a subdomain of its official website, basically confirming what we already knew.
The site has since been removed, but not before it drew a bunch of eyeballs. According to what was previously shown on HTC's website, the U12+ will in fact sport a 6-inch Super LCD6 display with a WQHD+ (2880x1440) resolution, powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 system-on-chip (SoC).

A subsequent listing on HTC's webstore also revealed there will be a model with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of onboard storage priced at 5,888 yuan (around $920 in US currency). Users who want more storage space can take advantage of the phone's microSD card slot, which supports up to 2TB of additional storage space.

Other specs include a 3,500 mAh battery, which is more capacious than both Apple's iPhone X and Samsung's Galaxy S9, and IP68-rated water and dust resistance.

The official press renders also reveal a dual camera arrangement on the back of the U12+. These are said to be 12-megapixel and 16-megapixel (Sony IMX3xx) shooters, to go along with a front-facing 8-megapixel camera for selfies. Look for the phone to debut with Android 8.0 Oreo out of the box.
