HTC Preps Scorching Fast Phone with 1080p Display

Something's brewing over at HTC, and if early benchmarks are any indication, it's going to knock your socks off when it debuts. Specifically, it appears HTC is prepping a new flagship smartphone, one that will sport a large touchscreen with a 1794x1080 resolution and a 1.5GHz processor nestled into a performance oriented chipset.

Details of the unnamed device appeared on GLBenchmark.com, where it's listed under the codename "dlx" with model number HTC6435LVW. Based on the device information data, the phone is destined for Verizon Wireless, but what's really interesting are the performance numbers.

GLBenchmark Egypt

HTC's smartphone scored 121.1 frames per second (FPS) on GLBenchmark's Egypt Offscreen test and 110.5FPS on the Pro version. Those are some smoking fast scores. For the sake of comparison, we benchmarked the HTC EVO 4G LTE and One X smartphones both at 56fps in the Egypt Offscreen test.

Stay tuned; we'll more on HTC's upcoming superphone as more details trickle to the Web.
