Harman Kardon Launches BDP 10 Blu-ray Player

The world hardly needs another Blu-ray player that only a few in a hundred can afford, but that's exactly what we're getting with Harman Kardon's latest. Granted, this one's aimed directly at the high-end market, so we'll certainly cut it some slack there. The BDP-10 is a Blu-ray / DVD player that can also play back multimedia via USB, and the built-in BD-Live feature ensures that users will be able to take advantage of the latest interactive features on films.

As expected, the deck -- which is H/K's first Blu-ray unit -- boasts an HDMI output, support for LPCM/MP3/Dolby TrueHD/DTS-HA Master Audio audio formats, an Ethernet socket, IR-remote in/out jacks, a front-panel USB port, optical and coaxial audio connectors and a weight of 3.7kg. The Harman Kardon BDP 10 will be available late May 2009 (so, right about now) with an asking price of £600 (which is right around $955).
