eBay Gives Away Free Google Home Mini With Select Purchases, Here's How To Score The Deal
This time of year many people are gearing up for Amazon Prime Day. Not to be outdone by their competitor, eBay is offering a free Google Home Mini with qualifying purchases of $119 or more.
Customers will simply need to shop for $119 worth of items (not counting the cost of the Mini), add a Google Home Mini directly from Google’s eBay page, and enter the coupon code “PMINI4FREE” at checkout. Customers will receive their Google Home Mini within ten business days.
Most items on eBay count as qualifying purchases. The few exceptions are from the Coins & Paper Money, Gift Cards & Coupons, Warranties, Protection Plan, and Real Estate categories. Customer will also no longer qualify for the Google Home Mini if one of their purchases that is part of the $119 total is returned or not completed. The coupon can only be used once per eBay account and is only available to customers with an address in the United States.
EBay is not the only website where customers can receive a discounted Google Home Mini. The device is also available for the discounted price of $34 in the Google Store. Google may be inspired by Morgan Stanley analyst Brian Nowak’s recent suggestion that they begin giving away Google Home Minis for free. Nowak argued that Google should give a Home Mini to each American household in order to edge out Amazon. He noted, “We argue Alphabet needs more devices/smart speakers in people's homes. The growth of voice shopping combined with Amazon’s expected install base advantage could threaten long term growth in Alphabet’s high-monetizing retail search category.”
Google Home sales may soon surpass Amazon’s. It was reported in QI 2018 that Google sold 3.2 million Google Home devices, while Amazon only shipped 2.5 million Echo devices. This was a 483% increase in performance for Google.
