AMD ISSUES STATEMENT ON DELL DECISION TO BROADEN AMD PROCESSOR-BASED SERVER OFFERINGS AND EXTEND INTO AMD PROCESSOR-BASED DIMENSION DESKTOP PCs

SUNNYVALE, Calif. - Aug. 17, 2006 - AMD (NYSE: AMD) released the following statement today regarding the Dell Inc. announcement that it intends to expand its relationship with AMD. In addition to a 4P AMD Opteron(tm) processor-based server, Dell plans to offer a 2P AMD Opteron processor-based server later this year and deliver AMD processor-based Dimension desktop PCs next month.
