Updated Nexus 7 Tablet Lands at Best Buy Ahead of Launch Date

Google recently revealed the worst kept secret on the web by formally introducing its second generation Nexus 7 tablet built by ASUS. It's thinner, faster, boasts a better display, and is supposed to be available to purchase July 30, 2013. Don't want to wait? You may not have to, depending on where you live.

There have been reports that those who pre-ordered a new Nexus 7 from Best Buy have already received shipping notifications. Intrigued, we hit up Best Buy's website and sure enough, the electronics retailer is selling the updated Nexus 7 as if it's in stock (there's no mention of a pre-order).

We checked with some local stores and found a handful listing the tablet as being in stock and available to pick up today. Not all stores have new Nexus 7 inventory, however, so before you make a blind trip to your local (or not so local) Best Buy location, visit the company's website and see which stores have it available (or give them a ring).

The new model Nexus 7 still boasts a 7-inch display, though it's been upgraded to 1920x1200. It also has a 1.5GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro processor, 2GB of RAM, 16GB or 32GB of built-in storage, 1.2MP front-facing camera, 5MP rear-facing camera, 802.11n Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, Android 4.3 Jelly Bean, and a few other odds and ends.
