SimCity BuildIt Lets You Build Booming Skylines On iOS And Android Devices

Absent of any real fanfare or even a simple press release, publisher Electronic Arts has launched its new SimCity BuildIt game for iOS and Android devices. The all-new SimCity game is a free-to-play mobile title "designed for gamers on the go." Taking advantage of the touchscreens that adorn smartphones and tablets, SimCity BuildIt supports gestures like pinch, zoom, and rotate.

"Evolve your city in a variety of ways. Meet your citizens' needs to keep them happy, or make questionable choices and feel your citizens' wrath," Electronic Arts states.

Though it's free to download and play, the game is also ready to serve up in-app purchases. A list of the top in-app purchases is filled with varying levels of SimCash, such as a "Pocketful of SimCash" for $6.49 all the way up to a "Huge Vault of SimCash" for $124.

According to the game's description, you'll be tasked with solving real city problems such as traffic, fires, and pollution; adding basic city services, including water and electricity; specializing your city with iconic landmarks, casinos, and more; creating and trading resources with friends and other cities; and unleashing natural (and not so natural) disasters. You're also able to explore your 3D city from different angles with 360-degree controls.

SimCity BuildIt is available in iTunes for iOS and in Google Play for Android.
