Sanyo's Eneloop Kairo Hand Warmer Keeps Gadget Fingers Toasty

Sanyo's Eneloop brand has to be one of our favorite new things going. We've already seen an Eneloop charging stick that is perfect for recharging weak gadgets, and now the next Eneloop device is one for warming your hands. Yeah, hand warming! As the gadget world branches out into wilder and wilder gizmos, Sanyo's Eneloop Kairo is an egg-styled device in white or pink (though the double-sided warmer also comes in silver), and are obviously designed to heat up your frigid hands in the cold, bitter winter.

The device is somewhat smaller than a deck of cards, and while the single-sided version offers an internal Li-ion battery that delivers a level of heat ranging from 102 degrees F in the low setting to 109 degrees F in the high setting, the two-sided version uses two AA batteries and delivers heat ranging from 102 degrees F in the low setting to 115 degrees F in the high setting. Pair these up with a gaming laptop that runs hot and you'll never even need to flip on your heating system!

Both models will be available through select retailers nationwide and on sanyostore.com beginning late-November 2009, with suggested retail prices starting at $34.99 for the one-sided KIR-SE1S and $44.99 for the two-sided KIR-SL2S hand warmer.

The SANYO eneloop kairo portable hand-warming device is slightly smaller than a deck of cards, which easily fits into a pocket, purse, or backpack. The Single-Sided version features an internal Lithium-ion rechargeable battery, allowing it to be recharged up to 500 times. The unit delivers a comfortable level of heat ranging from 102 degrees F in the low setting to 109 degrees F in the high setting. The unit can be fully recharged in approximately 3 hours and will deliver up to 4 hours of warmth in the low setting and up to 3.5 hours in the high mode. The MSRP is $34.99 and is available in pearl white and pale pink.

The Two-Sided hand warmer doubles as a battery charger and includes 2AA eneloop rechargeable batteries (these can also be used in other devices). The aluminum body produces heat on both sides. The unit delivers a comfortable level of heat ranging from 102 degrees F in the low setting to 115 degrees F in the high setting. The unit charges completely in 4.5 hours and provides 1-3 hours of warmth depending on the setting. The MSRP is $44.99 and is available in silver and hot pink.
