SanDisk Develops World's First 256GB CompactFlash Memory Card Optimized for 4K Video
Fair warning to penny pinching shoppers and budget buyers, continuing to read beyond this point could put your wallet in a state of shock and/or cause you to fall out of your chair. Disclaimer aside, SanDisk this week announced the availability of its 256GB Extreme Pro CompactFlash memory card, purportedly the world's first high-capacity, high-performance CF card with the latest Video Performance Guarantee (VPG-65) specification.
The new card is capable of minimum sustained write performance of 65MB/s and is optimized to capture 4K and Full HD video. It also boasts industry-leading transfer speeds of up to 160MB/s and fast shot speeds of up to 140MB/s for tasks like fast action and continuous bust mode shots, SanDisk claims.
