Quanta Computer Joins Futuremark's Benchmark Development Program

Around these parts, Futuremark's benchmarking suite is used on a near-daily basis. It has grown to become one of the most well-known and trusted brands in all of benchmarking, and today, it's getting a new partner. Quanta Computer is a company that kickstarts many of the models that you see today on store shelves with different branding, and going forward, Quanta will be working with Futuremark to "create new benchmarks for PC and mobile platforms."


Quanta is widely recognized as an ODM, manufacturing one out of every three laptops sold worldwide. In recent years, Quanta has extended its businesses into enterprise network systems, home entertainment, mobile communication, automotive electronics and digital home markets. The Futuremark Benchmark Development Program is an initiative for building partnerships with hardware and technology manufacturers with the purpose of creating industry standard benchmarks for performance measurement. Members include AMD, Imagination Technologies, Intel, Microsoft, NVIDIA, Qualcomm, Samsung and many other world-class companies.

We aren't told how soon to expect any changes or improvements, but we'll be on the lookout for any new code as we put forthcoming devices through the gauntlet.
