Onkyo Outs New High End Receivers

For those who take their audio seriously -- as in, serious enough to drop a couple of grand, or more, on a home theater receiver -- Onkyo today announced the release of two new high-end network A/V receivers, the TX-NR5008 and TX-NR3008. Not for the faint of wallet, the cheapest of the two (TX-NR3008) runs a cool $2,100, while the the TX-NR5008 commands $2.700.

To help justify the hefty investment, both receivers bring a ton of features to the table, including support for network audio streaming, various multi-room setups, iPhone/iPod playback over USB, and fully immersive 3D compatibility, Onkyo says.

The similarities don't end there. Both receivers feature dual HDMI outputs so you can hook up two high-definition displays simultaneously, and both come with advanced ISF video calibration to make fine-tune adjustments to each source. Other features include 9.2-channel audio, Audyssey DSX, Dolby Pro Logic IIz, Dolby TrueHD, DTS-HD Master Audio, gold-plated inputs and PLL jitter-cleaning circuit technology.

The TX-NR3008 comes with a front-side USB port, while the TX-NR5008 has USB ports front and rear, Onkyo says. See product pages below for a full list of features.
