MSI Drops a Pair of AMD Richland A10-Powered Gaming Notebooks on the Market

MSI announced two new G-series gaming notebooks that it claims are the world’s first to run AMD’s A10 (Richland) chips--specifically the A10-5750M, with up to Radeon HD 8970M graphics. The company says that the GX70 and GX60 notebooks boast a 40% increase in visual performance over previous generations as well as a boost in battery life and CPU performance.

Other features on board include AMD EyeFinity 3D for multiple displays, Killer E2200 Game Networking LAN, a backlit keyboard on the GX70, and THX speakers replete with a subwoofer.

The notebooks also sport a 750GB (7200 RPM) hard drive, 8GB of DDR3-1600MHz RAM, Blu-ray drive, SD/XC/HC card reader, headset AMP with gold-plated jacks, HDMI 1.4 and mDP v1.2, and a 720p HD webcam.

The GX70 has a 17.3-inch full HD non-reflection display while the GX60’s is 15.6 inches. The former includes 802.11b/g/n + Bluetooth 4.0 capabilities as well as three USB 3.0 and two USB 2.0 ports; the latter has no Bluetooth and has three USB 3.0 and one USB 2.0 port.

The GX70 starts at $1,399.99, while $1,299.99 gets you a GX60.
