Logitech K830: An Illuminated Living Room Keyboard For Night Owls

Logitech is certainly no stranger to the living room. The company boasts a range of universal remotes and keyboards designed to help you navigate channels on your swank HDTV and HTPC, but up until now, the company was missing an illuminated keyboard option. Not anymore. Logitech today looks to brighten your home entertainment setup with the "Illuminated Living Room Keyboard K830" (just K830 from here on out).

The K830 is a rechargeable plank with backlit keys, an integrated touchpad, and advanced wireless connectivity so you can click from your couch or bed when the lights go dim.

"More and more consumers want an easy way to access movies, TV programs, music and photos with their PC connected to a TV," said Charlotte Johs, global vice president of brand development for PC accessories at Logitech. "Our new Illuminated Living-Room Keyboard K830 is designed with this setup in mind. Backlit keys and a premium aesthetic that blends into the living room make it a stand-out choice for people with connected TVs."

The K830 automatically dims or brightens its backlit keys based on how much light is in the room. In addition, the keys will light up when you start typing and turn off five seconds after you stop to preserve power. As for range, the K830 maintains a connection to your HTPC from up to 33 feet away.

Logitech says the K830 will be available this month for $100 MSRP.
