Leaked Photo Offers First Glimpse of Next Amazon Kindle Fire Tablet

Rumors of a new generation of Kindle Fire tablets are starting to heat up, and it's probably no coincidence that Amazon recently lowered the price of its popular tablet family. Amid all the chatter is the first real glimpse of what the next generation slate will look like. What's been leaked to the web is in all likelihood a press photo of Amazon's next Kindle Fire.

Twitter user "evleaks" frequently posts what turn out to be legitimate press shots of unannounced products, and the reason we think his latest photo is of the next Kindle Fire and not the HD version is because it lacks a front-facing camera. It wouldn't make sense for Amazon to yank this feature.

Based on previous rumors, the next Kindle Fire HD will sport a 7-inch display with a Full HD 1080p (1920x1200) resolution just like the 2013 model Nexus 7. It will also have a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 quad-core processor and 2GB of RAM, and run a heavily skinned version of Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean, not Kit Kat

There's also been chatter of Amazon upgrading its 8.9-inch Kindle Fire HD with a 2560x1600 resolution and rear-facing camera.
