Kanex Reveals MHL-To-HDMI Adapter For 1080p Smartphone Output

It looks as if the MHL invasion has started. The new Mobile High Definition Link was first spotted on the Samsung Galaxy S, where the micro-USB port doubles as a 1080p output. And now, HDTV companies are starting to place this port on their own sets, enabling handset users to deliver content to screens directly from their mobile. The HTC EVO is also included in that crowd, and for those needing an adapter (an increasing quantity of folks, we presume), Kanex has what the doctor ordered. It's an MHL-HDMI adapter that allows a phone's MHL port to be sent directly to older sets with a standard HDMI port.

The MHL HDMI Adapter utilizes the phone’s existing micro USB port to create a HDMI interface from the portable device while simultaneously charging it.  The mobile device will mirror the content to the HDTV, and will enable operation of the mobile device in MHL mode so users can continue to receive calls, email and more. Compatible phones and tablets currently include Samsung Galaxy SII, Samsung Infuse 4G, HTC EVO 3D, HTC Sensation 4G, HTC Hercules, HTC Flyer and HTC EVO View 4G, and it's available now for $29.
