HTC One E8 Trades M8's Metallic Body For Plastic, Lands At Sprint For $100 On-Contract

You don't hear too many smartphone owners complaining about the premium design of their handset, and certainly the metal construction of HTC's One M8 is a highlight of the device. However, there's something to be said for plastic -- it's lighter and cheaper, which are two traits of the new polycarbonate HTC One E8 available at Sprint.

The HTC One E8 is similar to its M8 sibling in almost every way, save for the plastic construction and a few little details. It sports the same 5-inch Full HD 1080p (1920x1080) display, 2.3GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor, 2GB of RAM, 5-megapixel front-facing camera, and excellent front-blaring speakers with HTC BoomSound, all wrapped in Android 4.4.2 KitKat.

What's different about the HTC One E8 is that it features a 13-megapixel rear-facing camera instead of the 4-megapixel Duo Camera found on the M8. It also comes with just a 16GB storage option (the M8 comes in 16GB and 32GB flavors), though it also has a microSD card slot. And of course it's made of plastic, which gives the E8 a slimmer and lighter profile.

Sprint is offering the HTC One E8 in "Polar White" or "Misty Gray" with silver accents. Using Sprint Easy Pay, you can grab the device for $0 down (plus tax) and 24 monthly payments of $20.84. Alternately, Sprint is selling the E8 for $100 with a two-year service agreement.
