Google Now Number 2 on Top 25 Best Companies to Work For

"Working here stinks!," a Google employee was heard saying NEVER. When was the last time you heard a Google worker complain about his or her job? You probably haven't, and there are lots of reasons for that. Pay is one of them, but there are all kinds of perks to becoming a G-Man or G-Woman, like benefits that extend into the afterlife (seriously), on-site physicians, free haircuts, discounted legal services, and the list goes on.

We're not the only ones that think working for Google would be a groovy gig. In CNN Money's list of the 25 best global companies to work for, Google is No. 2.

Google Pool Table

"Google moved up by two spots in this year's ranking of global workforces," CNN Money explains. "The highly desirable tech behemoth receives 61 times as many applicants as they have existing jobs, and for good reason."

Google was given props for its "CareerGuru" program, which makes 43 of its senior leaders available for one-on-one confidential career coaching sessions with company employees. But if Google is No. 1, which is company tops the list this year?

That would be SAS Institute, nudging up a single spot in part because its leaders are so accessible. CNN Money also points out that SAS Institute has an extremely low voluntary tunover rate of just 2.6 percent.

A sampling of other companies that made the list include Microsoft (No. 5), FedEx Express (No. 7), Intel (No. 15), and Cisco (No. 21).
