Geeksphone Revolution Dual-Boot Android-Firefox Smartphone Coming February 20th

Geeksphone has been teasing (or “prophesying”, if you buy into the messianic imagery the company is using) its “Revolution” smartphone that offers Firefox OS and Android dual-boot capabilities, and now we have a ship date and a price tag.

The device lands in Spain on February 20th ahead of MWC 2014 and will cost 289 euros (or about $395 USD). There’s no word on if or when the Revolution will arrive in the U.S.

The 4.7-inch smartphone features a dual-core Intel Atom Z2560 (up to 1.6GHz) processor with 1GB of RAM and 4GB of onboard storage. There are 8PM rear- and 1.3MP front-facing cameras, support for up to 32GB microSD, 3.5mm audio jack, micro USB, WiFi 802.11ab/g/n, Bluetooth 3.0, and GPS, too.

Geeksphone Revolution
Perhaps an overstatement...

Note well that although the Revolution ships with Android on board, and you can switch to Mozilla’s Firefox OS, Geeksphone says that you can also opt for any “other community-supported flavor of an OS”, which leaves the door open for other possibilities.
