Forbes Rich Folks List Now Includes Six Facebookers

The Forbes Rich List for 2011 is out, and not only has Carlos Slim retained his title as the world's richest person, he's extended his lead of his closest rivals. Once again in second place is former Microsoft CEO BIll Gates, and Warren Buffett of Berkshire Hathaway is in third.

Carlos Slim easily holds the Forbes Rich List #1 slot with a personal value of $74 billion, which means he gained more than $20B year-over-year. Meanwhile, Gates and Buffett "only" have a meaguer $56B and $50B respectively.

nterestingly, thanks to a well-publicized influx of cash into Facebook by Goldman Sachs, there are now six Facebook-related billionaires on the Forbes Rich List. They include Eduardo Saverin whose travails with Zuckerberg Facebook provide much of the "drama" for the movie, "The Social Network."

Top of the Facebook list is Mark Zuckerberg, CEO and president at 52nd in the Forbes list, with a estimated fortune of $13.5B. Dustin Moskovitz, a co-founder is at $2.7B, Sean Parker is at $1.6B as is Saverin, Peter Thiel is a $1.5B and a Russian investor in the company, Yuri Milner is at $1B.

Regarding Saverin, Forbes said
"Shed no tears for Eduardo. If you do get to be thrown out, a billion dollars isn't a bad severance package."
Overall, Forbes says there are 1,210 billionaires in the world today, 214 more than last year. The U.S. has seen the number of American billionaires rise by 10 to 413, but in terms of percentage, it's dropped from 40 percent in 2010 to 34 percent in 2011.
