Facebook To Take On LinkedIn With ‘Facebook At Work’ Professional Networking Site

Business-oriented social networking sites, such as LinkedIn, might have to step up their game. According to unnamed sources that spoke to the Financial Times, Facebook is working on a new website called “Facebook at Work” which will allow users to have a work profile that is separate from their personal profile.

The report says that “Facebook at Work” will allow employees to edit documents, collect professional contacts, collaborate with each other, and chat with colleagues. Financial Times goes on to say that the company’s own employees have been using the site in order to work together for years now. Because of this, they have developed a suite of features for internal use only that lets them collaborate on bug fixes.

Considering that the social media website boasts around 1.32 billion monthly active users, it is a logical move for Facebook that could be highly lucrative.

At the time of this article's publication, Facebook has not released a statement confirming or denying the development of Facebook at Work.
