Dell Officially Unveils New Intel-Powered Venue Tablets and Refreshed XPS Mobile Devices

Dell's on the verge of pulling itself back into the hands of private ownership, but not before it issues an all-new line of tablets and revised XPS laptops. The new XPS 11 is said to be the thinnest, most compact 2-in-1 in the world, offering up a Quad HD (2560 x 1440) display on an 11.6-inch 2-in-1. If you're looking for something a big larger, the refreshed XPS 15 offers as an option the first 15.6-inch Quad HD+ (3200 x 1800) display in the world, which is the highest resolution available on a laptop of that size. Even the XPS 13 is getting a boost, with a Full HD (1080p) screen option, faster CPU choices, and improved battery life.

Over on the tablet side, there's the new Venue 8 Pro, which ships with Windows 8.1, an HD IPS display, an optional Active Stylus, and a pre-loaded copy of Office 2013 Home & Student. The Venue 11 Pro is a sized-up Windows 8.1 slate, offering 2-in-1 flexibility for those who just can't make up their mind on what kind of mobile device they need. No love for Windows? Dell's also shipping new Android slates -- the Venue 7 and Venue 8. The Dell Venue 7 and Dell Venue 8 feature Intel Atom Z2760 (“Clover Trail”) processors, while the Dell Venue 8 Pro and Dell Venue 11 Pro feature the new Intel Atom quad-core processors, code named “Bay Trail.” The Venue 11 Pro offers up to 4th Generation Intel Core i3 and i5 processor options and Intel vPro for manageability.
