BlackBerry Reports Massive Order of 1 Million Phones From “Established Partner”

Now that Android and iOS dominant the mobile market, BlackBerry desperately needs its Z10 handset launch to be a successful one, and there are reasons to believe it will be. One of those reasons is that one of the company's partners has placed an order for 1 million BlackBerry Z10 devices, representing the biggest order it's ever received for any phone or tablet.

"An order for 1 million devices is a tremendous vote of confidence in BlackBerry 10," Rick Costanzo, executive vice president of global sales for the Waterloo, Ontario-based company, stated in a blog post. "Consumers are ready for a new user experience, and BlackBerry 10 delivers. With strong partner support, coupled with this truly re-invented new platform, we have a powerful recipe for success."

BlackBerry Z10 Sides

According to Costanzo, those who already have a BlackBerry Z10 have given the company "hugely positive feedback" about the device. And regardless of the size of orders, wireless carriers are gung-ho to start selling the Z10, many of which have begun taking pre-orders. Verizon Wireless became the latest carrier to offer up the Z10 in the U.S., and has separated itself from the competition by signing an exclusive agreement with BlackBerry to carry the Z10 in white.

The Z10 features a full touchscreen with a 4.2-inch HD panel, 1.5GHz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Plus processor, 16GB of built-in storage, 2GB of RAM, 8MP rear-facing camera, 2MP front-facing camera, 1,800 mAh battery, and of course BlackBerry 10 software.
