Samsung Gives B&N Some Nookie, Intros Galaxy Tab 4 Nook

Back in June Barnes and Noble announced that its next Nook e-reader would be developed by Samsung. Today, the bookseller unveiled the Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 Nook tablet for $179.

The new Nook features a 7” LCD display with 1280x800 resolution, has 8GB of memory that is upgradeable to 32GB with a microSD card, will last up to 10 hours, weighs 9.7oz, and is available in black or white. For the little Narcissus in you, it also comes with a front camera (1.3MP) and rear camera (3.0MP) for taking photos and videos.

Furthermore, the Galaxy Tab 4 Nook has a built-in GPS and is capable of running two applications simultaneously for those who like to multitask. It will also support up to six personalized profiles and features parental controls.

To sweeten the deal, Barnes and Noble is including $200 worth of free content to those who purchase the new Nook. The content includes best-selling books, magazines, and TV shows, which will be available to download, plus $5 starter credit. Books such as The Wanderer and I Am Number Four will be part of the free content.
