Soyo's SY-TISU Motherboard
All Overclockers Welcome

For our benchmarking of the SOYO SY-TISU, we've included comparison benchmarks from an Intel D815EEA2 motherboard.  Although boards differ slightly - the Intel comes with on-board video for example - we've opted to use the Intel as a baseline for all future reviews with the Tualatin 1.20GHz. processor.

Now that we have the board in place and ready to roll, let's take a look and see how the numbers added up against the baseline.

Business and Content Creation Winstone
Bring it on.
The first test we ran was Business Winstone 2001, an acid test of today's intensive business-oriented applications.  We followed that up with a solid helping of Content Creation Winstone 2001, which stresses system performance with graphic applications such as Adobe Photoshop 5.5.
As you can see, the SOYO SY-TISU delivered performance virtually identical to that of the Intel D815EEA2 motherboard.  Take note that these are excellent numbers for a Pentium III processor.  This is where the features of the Tualatin processor combined with the i815 chipset get to strut their stuff.
Now we will take a breather from benchmarking for a moment so we can start tinkering with some FSB settings and see what this setup can do.

Overclocking The Soyo SY-TISU Motherboard
Taking it to the limit...

With the Soyo SY-TISU motherboard, we had no difficulty pumping the FSB up to 163MHz., pushing the "Tualatin" to a hefty 1.47GHz.  This was done without a single voltage adjustment whatsoever!  On the next page we've put together a side-by-side comparison with Sandra 2001te, showing performance at both default and overclocked speed.
