The Shuttle AK11 KT133A Based Motherboard
Too bad this isn't a DDR board!

OVERCLOCKING:

We had very good luck overclocking our 1GHz AXIA T-Bird with the Shuttle AK11.  With only a minor bump in voltage (.025v), we were able to hit 1450MHz (10 X 145) with standard air-cooling.  We'd also like to report that throughout all of our testing, the AK11 was rock solid.  We did not experience a single crash at either the default or overclocked speeds.  Shuttle definitely has produced a very stable motherboard.

That's enough talk, let's take a look at some synthetic and gaming numbers to see how the AK11 performs...

Performance
Decent...Very Decent...

We ran our usual suite of benchmarks with the Shuttle AK11.  First up we have our SiSoft Sandra 2001 results:

SiSoft Sandra:

CPU @ 1000MHz (7.5x133)

CPU @ 1450MHz (10x145)

Our CPU performs as expected at it's default clockspeed.  The AK11 really shines when overclocked though.  At 1.45GHz, we smoked all of Sandra's reference systems.

MM @ 1000MHz (7.5x133)

MM @ 1450MHz (10x145)

We see similar results in the CPU Multi-Media benchmark.  While overclocked, we dominated every other system.  Let's move on to the all important memory benchmark...

MEM @ 1000MHz (7.5x133)

MEM @ 1450MHz (10x145)

Here we see our Athlon / AK11 / SDRAM combo getting outperformed by all of Sandra's reference systems.  The numbers posted by the AK11 are nothing to sneeze at though, especially when overclocked.  The AMD 760 / PC2100 system just barely edged out the AK11.

Hard Drive

Hard drive performance is on par with all other boards we've tested using this particular drive.

Next up, let's see how the Shuttle AK11 handles some low-resolution Quake 3 Action...

QUAKE 3 ARENA:

For the sake of comparison, we've included scores we attained in our Abit KT7A-RAID review.

Wow, could that have been any closer?  The Shuttle AK11 and Abit KT7A-RAID performed at what is essentially the exact same level.
