    coolit :-(

well... the fan on the coolit eliminator has failed. to the credit of coolit though... it still cools it somewhat mostly because of the cosmos case having a fan right on top of it and low outdoor tempretures too...

i searched around the net and it seems alot of people have trouble with their fans and pumps. some guy even moded both the fan and pumps and got a huge increase  in performance.

obviously id rather go through warranty procedure than to take apart the whole unit but it seems that coolit is a bit of a hit and miss type of cooler (though newer revisions are supposed to be less prone to such problems)

sorry to hear that ice, that is the biggest fear of anyone who buy a watercooling system. I look into getting that one but i was turn off because of the serious issues even though you could slightly modded to your satisfaction but at the end is your choice to within the warranty or just fix it right away.

Is like the Gybabite Cooling that I'm planning to get, what I've heard and read is that the resoiver could brake!

you could put the resoiver in a leakproof bag for double safety Big Smile

As far as kits go Koolance is very good. Swiftech makes some good kits as well. Sorry to here about your fan. I have heard a few bad things from coolit. Stinks cause they are such nice looking coolers.

you can get a rad mount and mount any radiator to a 120mm fan on the back of the case.

    Re: coolit :-(

update, i finally got in contact with the right person!
i got offered a new "coolit pure" as a replacment (if i want)
or i can send them my unit and they will repair it...
or they can send me a new fan.

i just asked if i could get a possible upgrade to a freezone (since the eliminator wasnt originally meant to cool quad cores.... :-( ) hopefully i can get a freezone, if not i guess ill take the fan?

    any other suggestions?

If you have temps from the first one I would love to see the difference.

well, temps from the first one are about 38-39 idle and about 55-60 load for my phenom 9750.

my replacment shipped today and will be here in a week, but in the meantime i have increased airflow to the unit by replacing the 92mm fan (which was LOUD) with an old 92mm i had from my old armor case. and putting another 120mm on top of the headsink... and after this temps got to around 32 idle, and around 52 loud :-) (seems my fan placement was better than the stock one)

edit- i just realized, that these temps are in an open case, with a close case the temps are right back up to around 41c idle. so it looks like open case is important.

once i get my new unit ill post a comparision too.
