    Transfering a Pentium D

My friends HP broke, and we're loooking to build to build him a new PC while saving as much money as possible. I know for a fact his 8800GTS, and RAM will work, as well as his PSU and Opical Drives. The only thing I'm not sure of is whether or not I can take his Pentium D from his HP to the new PC. I'm assuming they're socket LGA 775 so that's what I need to look for? Thanks!

It will work just fine. All the pentium Ds are socket 775. Just make sure to get a cooler for it because HP, Dell and the like usually have special coolers. Other than that just remove it clean it off apply thermal paste and stick it in the new mobo.
