    umpc vs iphone

yeah imo id rather have an iphone it does basically all you want a umpc to do and it hundreds cheaper plus has a phone. umpc are used mostly for emailing, and web and other minor computer tasks.

    your opinions?

A UMPC has a full OS at its disposal.  Sure, an iPhone can do a hell of a lot, but not as much as an OS.  I'd rather have a UMPC.  But an iPhone can fit in your pocket so it is quite the pickle.  Hmm.  I'll take both.

mmm pickle..... well what good will havig a full blown os do really? the ump has no cd drive... the most it will have is some usb slots (if that!) so your basically stuck with preinstalled software.... the keyboard is really really tiny... i cant see one real advantage for an umpc.....

You can use a UMPC to take notes in class.  The keyboard is quite managable.  You ain't taking notes on an iPhone boy.Stick out tongue

Personally, if I was going to futz with a UMPC, I'd just get an ultra-light or thin and light notebook.  Other than that, for mobile computing and communications, I have yet to see anything beat an iPhone.

Voice recording for college?  No way man.  It's so much better to sort through notes than that.  I would never dare to record lectures.
