    VIA C7

After seeing the first reports of the VIA Nanobook, I started really looking into their C7. When you get right down to it, that's not a bad CPU. I'm a bit shocked that someone hasn't come along (like IBM) and offered to help them fab a dually or quad-core at 65nm and ramp those clocks up. Seems that such a CPU could really make some headway if it had the right backing.
    My current pc:
    Athlon 64 x2 4200+
    2GB DDR400 (Generic)
    Saphire Radeon x1900xtx
    SB Audigy 2 ZS
Seagate 120gb 7200 rpm SATA drive
    Seagate 200gb storage drive
    Raptor 74gb gaming drive
Logtech Cordless Mx Duo (love that mx700 baby!)

    VIA C7

Because VIA wouldn't be able to pay IBM to produce enough chips to ink a deal. Their market volume is too low. IBM only makes lasting contracts of high volume.

Yeah but who proposed VIA paying IBM? I was suggesting that somebody such as IBM (i.e. has their own fabs) buy up VIA. They have technology that seems like all it needs is a little fab love and some R & D time and they could really have a contender.

    RE: VIA C7

If IBM was looking to seriously enter the x86 market buying AMD would be the most likely scenario.

I'd agree with that Grahf, but that doesn't mean it's the only scenario.

hehehe..... Posted this shiz a while ago. And its carbon free!

Its amazing that at 1.9ghz it only draws 20w of power. i think via has the right idea but not enough market power to get someone to buy in.
