    What are your 3 favorite....

I started a new thread because recovering's thread was getting crowded. So what are your 3 favorite arcade games of all time? (You know. The ones you used to put an endless stream of quarters in)

    1. Mr. Do (I put someone at Taito's kid through college with this one)

    2. Donkey Kong (Someone at Nintendo got tuition out of me with DK)

    3. Ms. Pac-Man (I'm sensing a trend here!)

I used to carry a hammer in my computer tool kit. Just for fixing the packard Bells though.......

Can't remember the name of it but it was a X-men game with two screens! That game consumed my younger life. Me and my brother could play all day on $0.50. You only had to pay more if you died. It had like six sets of joystick and buttons. One for each character. There was no other game that had even close to the impact that game had on my youth.

    1) Mortal Kombat (I got so good at Mortal Kombat, I would let people pick which button I would beat them with, and I would win matches using only that button - man I was cocky in college.  I almost got in a real fight with one dude because he said I was "cheating" somehow using a combo move with Scorpion, so I proceeded to beat him using only the low-kick button.  Douche.)

    2) Street Fighter II

    3) Galaga / Shinobi

    3 favorite Arcade games?

They'd all be Pinball machines. I'm a Pinball fanboy from way back. Give me some Funhouse and BlackKnight 2000, maybe Joker Poker pinball and I'm good.

    but here goes anyway.

    1. Dig Dug

    2. Mr. Do

    3. Ms. Pacman

honorable mention to Yie Ar Kung-Fu, Kung Fu Master.

2 player games: Street Fighter and Karate Champ.

    Honorable mentions

Mortal Kombat II (The best of the lot IMO)(And no Marco, I won't let you kick my butt!)

    Galaga

    Tempest

I didn't even think of Pinball, but I am a pinball addict as well. 3 faves are:

    1. Black Knight 2000 (Best of all time)

    2. 8Ball deluxe

    3. Aliens (It was almost twice as wide and It was the first game I ifound a glitch/cheat in. If you could hit the ball through the u-turn lane more than 8 times (I think) every consecutive time after that would give you a free game. I could play all day and night on a single quarter. Eventually the owner of one arcade banned me from playing it.)

The mid to late 90s were when I played some arcade games, but not much.

    1. Die Hard Arcade (loved it so much I bought it for Sega Saturn)

    2. Crusin USA (also enjoyed it on my friend's N64)

    3. Pac Man (there's one at a pizza shop around here)

Though I love Street Fighter III: 3rd Strike on Xbox, PS2, and PC emulated, and it's originally an arcade game.  That would be #1, but I never played the real arcade version so I can't count it.

Nice to find another Pinball fan, and someone who like Black Knight 2000 even.. Say do you recall the motion sensors the game had in it? if the game was in a remote corner of an arcade or gameroom and nobody was anywhere near the machine for more than half an hour it would say in that deep voice "Give Me Your Money!"

I liked the cheesy copies of mainstream fighting games.

    Killer Instinct

Samurai Showdown (Ukyo was my guy)

And a side by side motorcycle simulation racing game. Forgot what the name was.

For Pinball, I loved The Addams Family machine.

Addams Family pinball: loved the magnets under the main part of the table which changed the balls direction. it was especially cool during multi-ball mode.

    1. Pacman
    2. House of the Dead (2 Player)
    3. Galaxians ( Like Space Invaders but the ship can go up and down as well as across, enemies aren't in block formation and are independent.)
