    Re: Attention All HotHardware Members

I put another rig online folding the GPU2 client (it’s a dual core, so no SMP):

        Rig 2  Opteron 170  GTX 260@602/1296/1026

    - hopefully it’ll help taking on Taiwan Team, and maybe holding off OverclockingWiki a little longer Smile

Water Cooling: DDC-3.2 w/Petra Top > Black Ice GTS240 > D-Tek FuZion > ASUS Fusion NB || OCZ Flex RAM > DD Bay

Seeing as I only have less than a tenth your points - don't think you have to worry quite yet . . . but I can't think of a better use for the contest rig!

    Re: Attention All HotHardware Members

So does that mean you really need a dual core cpu to run the GPU then cause I had the same problem with both not running at the same time. I thought the gpu only utilized the actual gpu I didn't know it took cpu cycles too. sorry if that sounded really stupid but it is what it is

    Re: Attention All HotHardware Members

Well you dont have to have a dual cpu.  It only uses a fraction of the cpu. Like on mine right now it is not even using 10% of one core. They are not totally dependant on the gpu yet.

    Re: Attention All HotHardware Members

You can use both gpu and cpu in tandem but you must set higher core affinty on the gpu and set the cpu to low. Nice ppd bonus especially on vista of course this is on smp for the extra

Big Smile I hate waiting on rma's

Waiting on a PSU RMA myself, and having to run the Opty Rig on the minimum for a GTX 260 – 500W.  Having to operate in Apollo 13 mode to fold though:  no CPU/GPU OC, non-used devices shut off in BIOS, back-up drives disconnected, no lighting – every non-essential molex traced and disconnected!  lol

I hate restocking fees. I wish I could just return something and order it again. RMAs take way to long for people that only have one rig.

I vote for return and re-order too!  With all the rma rules, it's like you're getting punished because you ordered their defective product!

Yeah If you call newegg sometime they will give you a 10 or 15% off your next order and that offsets the restocking fee.
