    Which one of these CPUs is better?

    Hi. Im about to buy a new CPU, and im hesitating. Which one of these CPUs is better for gaming?Hmm

    1)AMD x2 5000+

    2)AMD x2 5200+

    3)AMD x2 5400+

    4)AMD x3 8450+

    5)Intel E2180

    6)Intel E2200

    7)Intel E7200

     

    AMD Athlon 64 X2 3800+, 4 GB RAM(2x2, Kingston, PC2-6400), XFX GeForce 8800GT XXX 670M (512MB GDDR3), ASUS M2N-MX Mobo, Sound Blaster Audigy SE SB0570(7.1, HD EAX), 2 SATAII HDDs: WD 250GB and other Samsung 160GB OS: Windows XP SP3(Pro).

    Hello friend.I don't know about the AMD processors but i think  E7200 is far more better than other intel processor you have mentioned.I am also building similar kind of rig.Are you buying all stuffs online or from retailer?I am buying from retailer as there is no online market here.Also there is no enough market to find these products like E7200 and geforce 8800GT so i haven't done the market research till now and hoping to do soon.So can you tell me how much does E7200 and geforce 8800GT cost in your area.

    I live in Argentina, and there is quite an online market here (even if its nothing compared to the online market in USA).  The products you mentioned (the 8800GT and the E7200) are a little difficult to find if you are not in Buenos Aires(capital of Argentina) but nothing to be worried about, you can find these products. Price-wise, computer hardware is obviously more expensive than in USA. I have a special account with a wholesaler, and the price of the XFX 8800GT is $245 (US dollars) and of a E7200 is $150 (US dollars). As you can see the price difference of a E7200 is not so important (in USA they are approx at $120, i think), but the price difference in a 8800GT is important.

    Dang that sux, but at least it's a good card you have.

    The 7200 is your best bet as it will outperform all the rest in your list for gaming and for $150US it's really not much more expensive than here in the states.

    a cpu, a board, some ram, a gfx card, an opty, a hdd and a psu... all in a case

    Yes that sucks, but well, its like you said: at least i have a good card. Thanks for your E7200 recommendation.

    Also, im thinking about buying a E8400, (at $212 dollars) do you think its worth the 62 extra bucks?

    Wow that will me awesome.i was about to mention that u should get the higher processor but i thought ur out of budget.It will be even powerful PC if u select E8400.

    If you don't plan to overclock and it is within your budget, then go for the E8400. I think the E7200 is the best choice, but that is only because I overclock. Also, the extra 3 MB of cache wouldn't be that useful in games. It will affect some differently than others.

    Can't go wrong with either. Both are great processors.

    THe E7200 hands down. AMD sucks compared to all of the Intel's listed there, but for gaming, or in general the E7200 is the best. I have it btw, working on OCin' it something fierce too ;)
