Is this the same sort of reason that the iSight cameras on Macs have a light that goes on when the cameras is on. A girl I know was telling me in college there were guys who would try to film them having sex with a webcam and put it on the internet of all places.

Well I don't know if it would matter as these pictures are being taken whilst on the street or on a bus/subway -- chances are that there is a lot of environmental noise going on around the "photographer" so the 2nd party may not even hear the audible sound....

Subways are really quiet. When I went to Japan, my tour guide said that even talking on the phone on the subway is frowned upon.

I don't own an iPhone so I don't know what the shutter sound is like. But it could be distinct enough (not necessarily an overly loud shutter sound) from environmental noise.

I guess it is just for fun, like reading any other kind of comic or manga, just a different genre. Though even if it is true, I'm sure that it was just a general statement.

Anyways, I don't think you can call our porn "normal". Not only that, where Japan has in in comics, we have a lot of sick stuff on real-life videos. Just hearing some of the gross things my friends found from 4chan grosses me out and that isn't even a porn site. For the sake of the readers, I will go no further.
