After browsing/selecting the image, I press update an get an error message.

The message reads:

Either the site is offline or an unhandled error occurred. We apologize and have logged the error. Please try your request again or if you know who your site administrator is let them know too.

I know the images aren't too big and are the correct format, so what gives?

I'm having trouble with mine also. My avatar shows if I click a topic directly from the front page, like under "Hot News Diuscussions" or "Hot Forum Threads" but in normal forum veiw it doesn't show. I hope I am descibing this clearly enough. Any thing I can do?

I like to change my sig and avy alot, but me thinx the regs will always recognize me cuz of my long @$$ user name!!! rofl

mine still shows under news but not in forums. No biggie, but if you can fix it that'd be cool too.

Try going into your profile and reloading your avatar... sometimes you gotta do it twice, maybe even thrice. That's been my experience at least... dating back over a year ago even.

I think your problem is that you don't have your avatar setting enabled in your profile properties.  See below.   The news comment system doesn't respect this setting and shows the image anyway, as long as you have one uploaded, even if it's turned off.
