    amd phenom temps?

ok this is starting to scare me i know the phenoms are 125w chips, but i havent found any concrete info on what their temperatures are, as of now these are my temps.

    57c idle
    75c load (100% all 4 cores)

    this is from speedfan.

is this normal or is something going wrong?

From what I've read, that seems a little on the high side, but its not out of spec. I'd rework the cooling solution personally and try and see if I could get it to 45-50 idle. Definetly if your using the stock cooling, at least upgrade to a nice aftermarket block or liquid if your really pressed.

It's not custom unless your the only one who can boot it.

You got arctic silver on there?  My Phenom 9750 so far has been idling in the upper 40s even after fresh arctic silver.  So they must obviously get hotter than duals, but 57 is way too hot for idle.  Is this what the bios says too?  Obviously you can't check load there, but is the idle 57?

Indeed that is high sespecially with the non stock cooler on it. Did you put too much artic silver on it or did you not take off the plastic part on the bottom of the cooler? thats about all i can think of.

Actually, my upper 40s was just a fluke.  After using the system more, I am idling 53-57 like you.  Using Speedfan.  Are you still running an AX78?  Maybe the temp monitor is off, or perhaps Phenom 9750s idle in the mid 50s.

Okay, I didn't trust the bios (and this Speedfan) so I downloaded AMD OverDrive and it's saying each of my cores are 41C, while Speedfan is saying the CPU is 60C at the same time.  Hmm.  Tell me what OverDrive gives you.

I think that's more believeable and I'm going off that.  Hopefully I'm right. ;-)
