Explanations of the various icons next to threads might be nice for new members. Like something at the bottom of the page explaining what a folder with a red circle next to it means. And the piece of paper with a yellow start next to it.

Scrap this idea. Didn't know that if you put your cursor over them, there is a good explanation.

Which brings me to another idea since this thread was a bad idea. How do I delete my own thread/post? If there isn't a way, maybe there should be a way. 

 I think its under the edit function if not i can do it...

Looked again and didn't see a delete function. 

I would really like a box in the bottom of the page,not this pop-up window to quick reply to an existing message. 

No need to delete or lock unless the thread contains offensive material. People often do a search to see if a question has been asked before they post, this thread can serve that purpose.

I just hit the reply button at the top of someone's post and don't quote that user unless I want to. Though, there have been a few instances where I wanted to multi-quote.
