Verizon Wireless Adds LG Spectrum 2 To 4G LTE Lineup
Verizon Wireless and LG are teaming up to offer the new Spectrum 2. This smartphone features a 4.7-inch True HD display with Corning Gorilla Glass for added durability. The Spectrum 2 is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Krait 1.5 GHz dual-core processor and runs on Android 4.0. Other key specifications include 16GB of internal storage, a microSD expansion slot, and 4G LTE connectivity with mobile hotspot capabilities.
On the back of the Spectrum 2, you'll find an 8-megapixel camera with Advanced Image Editor and Video Wiz features. This camera is capable of recording video at 1080p. It also has Intelligent Panorama Shot and Time Catch Shot modes. For video chat, the phone features a 1.3-megapixel front-facing camera.
The battery cover on the Spectrum 2 allows for wireless charging out of the box. The phone also supports near-field communications which will enable you to share content with another compatible phone wirelessly by tapping the phones together. LG is offering NFC reprogrammable stickers known as LG Tag+ which let you change phone settings and more by tapping the phone to the sticker. The Spectrum 2 also comes with SmartShare which lets you share pictures and videos on a DLNA-enabled device.
The Spectrum 2 is currently available from Verizon Wireless' website. It will be in stores in the coming weeks. The Spectrum 2 sells for $99.99 after a rebate and with a two-year contract. A Premium Sleeve with Smart Display is available for $24.99. This sleeve protects the phone and displays notifications on the screen to show missed calls, text messages, and more.
