If Verizon's latest iPad offering doesn't fill your need for an eReader, perhaps an Android smartphone preloaded with Amazon's Kindle will. The wireless carrier and Amazon recently announced plans to preload the Kindle for Android app on the Motorola DROID 2, Motorola DROID X, and the Samsung Fascinate from Verizon Wireless. Like other Kindle apps, the Kindle for Android app supports Amazon's Whispersync technology and comes with the Kindle Worry-Free Archive.

Kindle for Android lets customers discover and read more than 700,000 books in the Kindle Store and is easy to find on the application screen of the new Samsung Fascinate™ – which boasts a brilliant 4-inch Super AMOLED touch screen display – as well as on DROID™ 2 by Motorola and DROID X by Motorola.

Kindle for Android allows customers to browse, download and start reading their favorite books directly from their Android phone. Features of the Kindle app include:
