Velocity Micro Packs External DVD Writer, USB Hub And 500GB HDD Into VMultra

Accessories are a dime a dozen, but this one's a notch above the rest. Velocity Micro, a well-known company when it comes to building gaming rigs, has just introduced an interesting new device called VMultra. It's an all-in-one external drive that combines four different peripheral devices in order to create a major accessibility hub. It's designed for use with Ultrabooks, laptops and netbooks that lack an optical drive, as it includes an external DVD±RW drive, USB 3.0 hub, SD card slot, and 500GB of backup storage. That's particularly useful for SSD-based products with limited internal storage, and it's actually pretty compact given all that it does. If you're sold, you can grab one this week for $199.99.

Might be more interesting if it had a bluray drive rather than a format that is well past its sell-by date. DVD is just too old to be much use any more.

We've added a configurable VMultra sku to the lineup with Blu-ray and SSD options. Thanks for the feedback!
